Biofit Amherst AM-Series Ergonomic Chair
The Biofit Amherst AM-Series Ergonomic Chair offers a range of features designed to enhance user performance and comfort. It includes a spacious, saddle-shaped seat and an ergonomically contoured backrest with lumbar support, both of which are customizable to suit different environments and budgets. The seat measures 21 inches wide by 19 inches deep and is 3 inches thick, featuring a waterfall front and an internal seat board bumper guard for added durability. The high-profile, Euro-style base is crafted with T-shaped construction for increased strength and ease of cleaning.
The chair comes standard with a variety of adjustable controls including Soft Touch pneumatic seat-height adjustment, a fixed rearward seat tilt of 3-1/2 degrees, and adjustable backrest tilt and height. For mobility, it offers dual-wheel, non-marring polyurethane casters that resist movement when unoccupied, thereby preventing the chair from rolling away on hard surfaces and enhancing safety. Alternatively, 2-inch high polyamide glides are available, along with other caster styles.
The metal parts feature a standard black powder-coated paint finish, with other color options available. The chair also offers a wide selection of cloth and vinyl upholstery styles. It supports up to a 350-pound capacity.

Here's how to calculate your seat height to perform at your best.
BioFit manufactures models in a wide selection of seat-height adjustment ranges. This choice of adjustability options helps ensure our chairs and stools fit the size and body type of individual workers and unique applications, delivering in-demand flexibility to accommodate users on different shifts or the same worker performing other tasks at different work levels.
The basic formula to calculate the ideal seat height directly corresponds to the actual work level ‒ that is, the distance from the floor to the work surface height ‒ minus 12 inches. Therefore, BioFit recommends using this figure as the mid-point of the seat-height-adjustment range of the chair purchased.
For example, a 40-inch work level ‒ the height measured from the floor to the top of the work surface ‒ minus 12 inches = 28 inches ‒ is the mid-point of the chair or stool seat height adjustment range.
This formula applies to most workers. BioFit ergonomic seating will fit 90% of workers without customization, while alterations can be made easily for the other 10%.
